LumioUI vs React Native Reusables

React Native Reusables: shadcn/ui brought to React Native: accessible components built on RN Primitives, with NativeWind or Uniwind. LumioUI: a motion-first React Native library whose components and screens you copy in as source. Here is how they differ, and when each is the better pick.

Which one should you use?

Choose React Native Reusables if

  • You want shadcn/ui's exact look and API on mobile, fully free and MIT.
  • You plan to design your own motion and need accessible primitives to start from.

Choose LumioUI if

  • You want the motion already done: springs, gestures and haptics tuned in every component.
  • You want more than primitives, like swipe decks, pickers, charts and complete screens.

Switching from React Native Reusables, or using both

LumioUI copies plain component files into your project, so you don't have to move everything at once. Add the one piece you're missing, say a bottom sheet, a toast or a swipeable row, use it next to your existing React Native Reusables screens, and move more over only when it's worth it. Nothing you install depends on a LumioUI package at runtime.

React Native Reusables also styles with NativeWind, so LumioUI components sit beside it with no extra setup. npx @lumioui/cli init only writes the setup files your project is missing.

Try LumioUI

Every free component has a live demo you can touch on its page. Add one to your app in a single command; the code lands in your project:

npx @lumioui/cli init
npx @lumioui/cli add button action-sheet

Questions

How is LumioUI different from React Native Reusables?

Both copy component source into your project. Reusables ports an existing web design system to React Native; LumioUI has its own design, puts motion, haptics and gestures first, and adds full screen templates.

What does LumioUI cost?

74 components are free for personal and commercial apps. Pro adds 173 components and 334 screen templates; see the pricing page.
