LumioUI vs React Native Paper
React Native Paper: Callstack's Material Design 3 component library for React Native. LumioUI: a motion-first React Native library whose components and screens you copy in as source. Here is how they differ, and when each is the better pick.

Which one should you use?
Choose React Native Paper if
- Your app should look like Material Design, or you need a complete free kit in one install.
Choose LumioUI if
- You want your own brand look rather than Material.
- You want to own and edit the component source instead of overriding a dependency.
Switching from React Native Paper, or using both
LumioUI copies plain component files into your project, so you don't have to move everything at once. Add the one piece you're missing, say a bottom sheet, a toast or a swipeable row, use it next to your existing React Native Paper screens, and move more over only when it's worth it. Nothing you install depends on a LumioUI package at runtime.
React Native Paper styles components its own way, so while you move over the project has two styling approaches. LumioUI needs NativeWind and Reanimated 4. npx @lumioui/cli init only writes the setup files your project is missing.
Try LumioUI
Every free component has a live demo you can touch on its page. Add one to your app in a single command; the code lands in your project:
npx @lumioui/cli init
npx @lumioui/cli add button action-sheet Browse the components · See the screen templates · Installation guide
Questions
Is LumioUI a React Native Paper alternative?
If you want a design that is not Material, yes. Paper is the right pick for Material Design apps; LumioUI gives you editable source with its own motion-first design.
What does LumioUI cost?
74 components are free for personal and commercial apps. Pro adds 173 components and 334 screen templates; see the pricing page.
